My Music History

-What was the last CD you bought?

Soul Asylum - Stand up and be Strong EP. (And their new album, The Silver Lining)

Good stuff. I bought Green Day American Idiot album the same day, but haven't listened to it yet.

-What was the last concert you saw?

Guster and Ray something or other. And the Fruit Bats.

-What artist do have the most CDs of?

Probably the Scorpions

-If you had the choice of only downloading songs or only buying CDs/albums/8-tracks for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

A few artists have convinced me to buy the CDs by providing extra goodies, such as live DVDs (Spin Doctors, Soul Asylum). If price is equal, I'll go with the CD.

-If you can pull an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and erase a band from your memory that you used to love, which band would it be?

I wouldn't

-Who's the most overrated band of all time?

Probably all of them.

-Who had the greatest impact on popular culture, Elvis or The Beatles?

Almost every band I listen to claims the Beatles (or members of the beatles) as influences. I think they are also the most covered band. And they wrote their own stuff. Elvis shook his hips.

-You ever sell a ticket for more than face value?

Probably

-You ever travel to a different time zone to see a concert?

Nope

-You ever say that you liked a song/artist just to impress a person of the opposite sex?

Nope

-What was your prom theme?

I don't remember. Maybe that "na, na, na, na Goodbye" song

-Kanye West, musical genius or pompous dickhead?

I don't know who he is.

-Can you break dance?

not according to people who've seen me do it.

-At a wedding, if they play the "Electric Slide," do you run onto the dance floor or head for the bathroom?

I continue to brood at whatever table I'm at.

-What's the most you ever paid for a concert?

It was probably the moody blues at the Oakdale (back when they were a theatre in the round); but I was so young my parents paid for it. My memory is hazy, but i seem to remember it being $75+. Who knows!

-What's the most you ever paid for a CD/record?

I bought a ton of Nirvana bootleg discs for $35-$50 bucks

-You find the person of your dreams, everything you ever wanted in a person and their favorite band of all time is Sugar Ray, what do you do?

The person i stole this from said 'take them to see Sugar Ray". that seems like a pretty reasonable approach.

-If you could reunite one band with all its original members who are still alive, which band would you reunite?

The Beatles

-If you could bring back one musician who died prematurely, which musician would you bring back?

Kurt Cobain

-What does E G B D F stand for?

Empty Garbage Before Dad Flips Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge Every Good Boy Deserves Favor

I've heard others, but none come to mind.

-How would you describe The Arcade Fire to visiting aliens?

Which arcade caught on fire?

-When will Pete Doherty die?

I have no idea who Pete Doherty is.

-What's the deal with indie rock boys wearing thick-frame glasses and indie rock girls looking like librarians?

I didn't know there was a deal with them. Perhaps eyesite problems? Perhaps they want to look cool?

The real reason for this post is that I'm finishing testing my RSS aggregator and wants to see what happens when I add something to the feed
