My home recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream.
Ingredients
Base Ice Cream Recipe
- 1.5 jars of Creme of Coconut. I use Goya brand. This is about 22.5 ounces
- 2 cups of Milk: I've been using So Delicious Unsweetened Coconut Milk.
- 1/2 Cup of Sugar
- 2 Bananas
Extra Stuff
- 1/4 cup of Hershey Special Dark Powder
- 1/3 cup of Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter
Steps
This is simple, I throw everything in a blender then pour it into an ice cream maker for about an hour.
If you want to add in mix-ins, such as chocolate chips, I do that in the last 10 minutes of the churning!
Alternate Ingredients
As alternates for Creme of Coconut, I've used various non-dairy creamers with success, but it'll depend on your taste preferences. Coconut Creme does not come at as creamy/smooth as Creme of Coconut.
As alternates for Milk, I've also used Silk Soy Milk and Banana Milk with great success. Oat Milk or Cashew milk gives a weird texture and don't work that well.
As alternates for the Hershey Special Dark powder, I've used regular Hershey Chocolate Powder and Ghirardelli chocolate powder. Both work great, but give a slightly different taste. Cacao powder is a less sweet taste which my wife likes less, but can work in a pinch.
What if I don't want Chocolate?
If you don't want a chocolate based ice cream, replace the 1/4 cup of chocolate powder with 1/4 cup of sugar..For Vanilla ice cream, I'll add two teaspoons of Vanilla Extract.
For Mint Ice Cream, I'll add one teaspoon of Mint extract, and one teaspoon of vanilla extract.
