Sams Club
I just submitted this to This is Broken.com. ( although due to the amount of submissions they get, there is only a 10% chance it'll make it up there)
I placed an order on SamsClub.com. SamsClub.com is not actually an e-commerce site, so it was an order that I would have to pick up in the store.
I realized I had selected the wrong location for pickup and wanted to try to cancel my order. As you can see in the screenshot "You can cancel the order by contacting a member service rep within one hour."
First off, there is no number on the site, so how do I know where to call? That is inconvenient, but I'm not sure if it makes it broken.
The number was in the notification e-mail I received. I gave them a call and got through to a service rep. I gave him my order number and it was not yet in his computer. He told me that there was a 20 minute delay before the order would show up on his computer. He asked me to call back in 10-15 minutes.
This is broken.

I brought a 84 month automobile battery with a two year free replacement warranty from Sam's Club. Shortly after purchasing the battery, I drop my Sam's Club membership because I am single and really don't purchase in bulk. Then the unthinkable, the battery died. I call sam's and inquire about how I could get an adjustment since the battery was only 18 months old. I was told, the warranty became invalid after I dropped the membership. This applies to all warranties, even if you purchase a high ticket item such as a big screen with a two year warranty, it would be void if you drop your membership.
Don't buy high ticket item with a warranty unless you plan on staying a sam's club member. Their prices really don't beat the competition when you have no warranty. remember to shop other places for price comparisons, because this could become very expensive.
I won't shop sam's or walmart again in life, not only are they stiffing the employees with no benefits, they are stiffing customers for things purchase in good faith.
I'm confused. You said you confirmed the address, twice, and then had to wait 48 hours for someone to call you back w/ the final pricing.
Then you go on to say that no one called you back. Aren't these competing arguments?
Why pay the $40 membership fee????
